BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Burger King assistant manager is accused of embezzling $1,100 in cash from the store she was responsible for opening in Biloxi.

Biloxi Police Department Lt. Chris De Back said officers responded to the Pass Road restaurant on May 30 after someone reported the store had been left unlocked with the lights on and the manager charged with opening the store was gone.

According to police, 52-year-old assistant manager Tina Marie Gilleland was in charge of opening the store. Investigators determined she had unlocked the store, taken $1,100 in cash she was responsible for and left the building.

De Back said a warrant was issued for her arrest on a charge of embezzlement, and her bond was set at $50,000.

Authorities were unable to locate Gilleland until Friday, when they received a tip on her whereabouts. She was finally arrested at the Biloxi Greyhound Station.
