Car burglary suspect runs, captured minutes later

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

A woman considers herself lucky that an officer was patrolling the area where she parked her car in Ocean Springs.

The woman was shocked when she saw a man inside her car. She told police the suspect took her wallet, and took off running into a wooded area.

He car was parked near the 2000 block of Bienville Blvd., not far from where an officer was patrolling. The police officer noticed a male go into the wooded area, and called for back up. At the same time, the victim was on the phone with dispatch explaining everything that happened.

Police quickly realized the victim and officer were describing the same suspect. Officials put up a perimeter entered the wooded area and made contact with the male matching the description of the possible suspect of the car burglary. The suspect, identified as Jonathan Kingston had the victims wallet in his hand, and confessed. Police arrested Kingston and he was booked into the City of Ocean Springs Jail under a $5000.00 bond for Felony Auto Burglary set by Judge Matthew Mestayer.
