Help support Special Olympic athletes in Mississippi

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is teaming up with law enforcement officials along the Coast to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Athletes of Mississippi. It is part of a nationwide event called Cops on Doughnut Shops, a partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

On Saturday, June 13, police officers will collect donations from customers and the general public as they eat, sleep and play on the rooftop of Krispy Kreme in Ocean Springs. The store is located at 1419 Bienville Boulevard, and the event will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Coupons will be given out for donating:

$5-$20 donation: One free original glazed doughnut

$21-$50 donation: One free dozen original glazed doughnuts

$51-$200 donation: One free dozen original glazed doughnuts and a Krispy Kreme prize

$201-$999 donation: 1 free dozen original glazed doughnuts each month for a year and a Krispy Kreme prize

$1,000+ donation: Doughnut party, up to 50 dozen original glazed doughnuts

Since its inception in 1981, the Torch Run has raised more than $270 million for Special Olympics athletes.
