PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) -

Tuesday's rain caused big flooding headaches at Cambridge Park Apartments on Shortcut Road in Pascagoula. Residents say it's not the first time this has happened, and want to see something finally done about it.

April Harris was beyond frustrated when she woke up to see water covering the parking lot and drivers dodging the wet mess.

"We have to park our cars on our balcony so they won't flood out," said Harris.

"The flooding is so bad you can't even get into your apartment," one tenant's friend said. "They need to do some kind of drainage because it is not good for the people who live here."

Several people in the complex said almost every time there is a downpour, the rain turns their parking area into a lake.

"When it rains, like two weeks ago, there was water inside my car," one person said.

"It flooded when I first moved here," a new tenant said. "It was up a little higher, but they say it gets worse than this. If I knew it flooded here, I wouldn't have moved here."

The residents we spoke with said they've voiced their concerns about water woes several times to management and the city, but so far, nothing has been done to fix it.

"Everybody out here has complained. It is said. It is nothing that is going to be done out here."

The apartment manager said the complex is aware and looking into the problem and planning to redo the parking lot soon. Pascagoula officials said they are also investigating the problem.

"Upon learning of the flooding at Cambridge Park Apartments, the City of Pascagoula immediately dispatched a crew to investigate the situation. We are waiting on a report of their findings and possible recommendations," Pascagoula's Public Relations Specialist Anne Pitre said.
