What you need to know to enjoy Biloxi's Ultimate Game-Day Experience

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Biloxi is getting ready for the Shuckers' home opener at MGM Park, but the party officially kicks off hours earlier in the Howard Avenue section of Vieux Marche. Beginning at Saturday 12:45pm, you can find all kinds of family activities, including batting cages, a radar gun to check pitch velocity, a whiffle ball home run derby contest, and free popcorn and snow cones.

See a full schedule of the game-day activities, including a parade and live music, at http://www.biloxi.ms.us/gameday/

The other big question is, "Where should I park?" The city is advising all fans to park at any of east Biloxi's casinos, then catch the free Coast Transit park-and-ride shuttle service to the downtown Biloxi Transit Center. The free park-and-ride service will run along the Casino Hopper route from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and during peak hours, the CTA shuttles will be making stops every 20 minutes.

If you plan to park downtown, you need to be aware of the street closures. Here's a map showing available parking: http://www.biloxi.ms.us/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/GameDayTraffic.pdf

WLOX.com will live stream the opening day ceremony at the ballpark Saturday night beginning at 6:45pm. Watch online or through our free WLOX News app. Just click on the "Live Video" tab in the menu bar.
