BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -
The Biloxi Shuckers started Wednesday's game in a big hole. Pitcher Jorge Lopez didn't have his best stuff and the Lookouts took advantage and led 6-1 after 4 innings.
Lopez would last only 4 innings after he gave up 6 runs on 9 hits with 3 strikeouts.
Relievers Jacob Barnes, Austin Ross, Mike Strong and Damien Magnifico would get the job done keeping Chattanooga off the scoreboard and the Shuckers began to dig themselves out of that deep hole. Biloxi batters starting getting hot and the Shuckers would peck away at the Lookouts lead.
Biloxi tied the game 6-all in the top of the 7th and the game stayed that way until Tyrone Taylor belted a two-run single in the top of the tenth inning that propelled the Shuckers to an 8-6 advantage.
Magnifico (w, 1-0, 1.42 ERA) pitched the final 1.1 innings, gave up one hit and tossed two strikeouts to preserve the Shuckers' win.
Orlando Arcia had another big night at the plate. He went 3 for 6 with a double and home runs and drove in 2 RBIs.
DH Taylor Green was 2 for 3 and 1 RBI, Nick Shaw had 1 RBI going 1 for 4 and Michael Reed had 2 hits in four trips to the plate as the Shuckers banged out 15 hits on the night.
Biloxi improves to 28-18 while the Lookouts dropped to 28-17.
