BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Kevin Burdine and his three assistant coaches were told that they would have to turn in their resignations. On Tuesday, they did just that.
Burdine says they were relieved of their coaching duties due to incidents involving non-smoking tobacco.
Burdine guided the 2015 Indians to the Class 6A South State Championship finals and lost to Oak Grove two games to one in a best-of-three playoff series.
Biloxi ended the season with 22 wins and 13 defeats.
In 13 seasons under Burdine, the Biloxi Indians piled up 263 victories, won five district titles and were runners up in the South State Finals twice.
Burdine and all three assistant coaches will continue teaching at Biloxi High School.
