The Biloxi Shuckers rain down on Birmingham in a game called in the 5th inning

Huntsville, Alabama - The Shuckers (27-18) bagged four runs in the bottom of the first and went on to secure a 7-2 win over the Birmingham Barons(21-24).

Tyrone Taylor went 3 for 3 at the plate and scored 2 runs, Orlando Arcia matched Taylor's success at the plate with 3 hits in 3 trips, scored two runs and had one RBI. Nick Ramirez was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.  Nathan Orf was 1 for 2 with an RBI.

Hobbs Johnson allowed just two runs on two hits over his five innings of work.  Johnson picked up his 3rd win of the season against 1 loss and retired the final 12 Birmingham batters.

Biloxi leads the Mississippi Braves by 2.5 games in the Southern League South Division standings with 25 games remaining in the first half.

The Shuckers pack up their bags and head to Chattanooga for the first of a five game series beginning Wednesday.  The Lookouts lead the North Division.

Biloxi's Jorge Lopez (3-2, 2.95 ERA) will get the starting call on the mound in game.
