ARLINGTON, VA (WLOX) - Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells has been awarded a Purple Heart.
The posthumous award was presented last night to his wife Channing Wells who is pregnant with the couple's first child, a boy.
The 27-year-old from Hurley was shot in the line of service in Baton Rouge in March.
The Director of the U.S. Marshals Service Stacia Hylton and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch presented the award at a ceremony in Arlington, Virginia.
