Southern Miss is hosting the C-USA Baseball Tournament and face UAB on Wednesday

HATTIESBURG, MS (WLOX) - Southern Miss has run off a school-record tying 13 straight wins and hope to establish a new record of 14 straight when the Golden Eagles (35-16-1) battle UAB at 7:30 Wednesday night at Pete Taylor Park.

The Blazers bring a 30-24 record to Hattiesburg and Southern Miss won two of three games against UAB in April.

Southern Miss closed out regular season play by winning its last 10 league games and were tied for second place with Florida Atlantic.  The Golden Eagles are the number three seed because Florida Atlantic won its series against Southern Miss.

Over the last 13 games, Southern Miss is hitting at a .297 clip with 25 doubles, 18 home runs and 101 runs batted in.

To go along with their big bats, the Golden Eagles are ranked in a first-place tie in earned run average (3.17) and in field percentage. (.975) and lead the league with 58 double plays.

Chase Scott has hit safely in 21 straight games for the Golden Eagles which is the eighth longest hitting streak in Southern Miss history.

No. 8 FIU vs. No. 1 Rice/12:30 p.m.

No. 7 Old Dominion vs. No. 2 Florida Atlantic/4:00 p.m.

No. 6 UAB vs. No. 3 Southern Miss/7:30 p.m.
