BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A video and music studio on wheels pulled into Biloxi High School Tuesday, giving young people a chance to be inspired by the late Beatles star and music legend John Lennon.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus allowed Biloxi High students to hop on board for some hands-on lessons. The bus came equipped with cutting-edge technology that encouraged students to write songs, record music, shoot short films and documentaries, and produce videos, even game apps.

The non-profit outreach program was established 18-years ago to inspire young people to express their creativity. The crew said it also carries on John Lennon's passion for music, artistic freedom, and peace.

"We like to think if you're making art, you're not making war. So the act of creating art is something that's furthering that," said Bryce Quig-Hartman, the on-board engineer. "As we all know, he was a huge icon, not just in music, but in art, fashion, all these different aspects and it's really just a great face for our vehicle to really help inspire kids."

Students also got a chance to try out the musical equipment and take part in a jam session with the crew.

"It's really about inspiring them to be creative, getting them that inside access to a world they might not have even thought about or seen before," said Quig-Hartman. "It's impossible to be on the bus and not find something that's interesting. We literally have everything to create anything you want. So if you have an idea, we have the tools."

This Thursday at noon, the crew will create a human peace sign on the beach by the Biloxi Lighthouse. At night, they will host a Battle of the Bands at Kress Live in downtown Biloxi.
