It was not a good night for the Biloxi Shuckers(18-13). Maybe the crowd or lack of had something to do with it. In the end, the Jackson Generals (12-16) handed Shuckers pitcher Brooks Hall his first loss of the season after he had won 4 straight.
Hall (2.19 ERA) lasted three innings and gave up 4 runs on 5 hits, including a home run with one strikeout. Closer Wirfin Obispo had a rough outing for the Shuckers. Obispo (6.23 ERA) pitched 2 innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits.
Second baseman Yadiel Rivera had a good night at the plate for the Shuckers. He was 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored. First baseman Nick Ramirez had 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate, had one RBI and scored a run.
The Shuckers scored 3 runs on 9 hits and had an error.
The Generals scored 8 runs on 12 hits and had an error.
James Gillheeney (3-1, 1.98 ERA) posted the win for Jackson. In 5.1 innings Gillheeney gave up one run on 4 hits and tossed 4 strikeouts.
