(Oxford-AP) -- Ronnie Goodwin struck out eight and allowed just four hits in eight innings as Mississippi defeated Georgia 3-2 today. The Rebels had their seven-game Southeastern Conference winning streak snapped Saturday by the Bulldogs, but they took two of three in this series after sweeping their last two three-game sets against Auburn and Alabama. It's the first time since 19-99 that Ole Miss (23-8-1, 9-3) has won three straight series. The Rebels improved to 23-and-8 overall and 9-and-3 in the S-E-C. Chad Sterbens was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored for the Rebels. Ole Miss is 8-1 in games decided by one-run.
