Millionth Fan Is Honored While Mississippi Sea Wolves Drop Another ECHL Game

After 5 seasons in the ECHL the Mississippi Sea Wolves celebrated a milestone Friday night in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum honoring the Millionth Fan. David Gennarelli of Vancleave, a father of two, was the 509th fan to walk through the Coliseum Friday night prior to the Sea Wolves-Arkansas Riverblades game. He became the Millionth Fan receiving various prizes including lifetime Sea Wolves season tickets. It was David's second ever Sea Wolves game and he was basically speechless.

Before the game the Sea Wolves received a slight ray of hope of cracking the ECHL playoffs when the league penalized Tallahassee for salary cap violations taking away 15 points along with an undisclosed fine. However, the Sea Wolves two win their two remaining games and Augusta had to lose all three of their remaining contests. It didn't happen. The Lynx blasted the troubled Tallahassee Tiger Sharks 8 to 1 and the Riverblades polished off Mississippi 3 to 1.

Coach Al Pedersen's Sea Wolves close out the 2000-2001 season 7:35 Saturday night in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum hosting the Pensacola IcePilots. A lucky fan attending the season finale will win the grand prize, a pair of gold season tickets for the 2001-2002 season.
