Biloxi High Mourns Loss Of Student

Biloxi High School is mourning the loss of one of its students today.

The Biloxi senior trip to Disneyworld was cut short a day when students found out that 18-year-old Nicole Williams was gravely ill.

The girl died Sunday afternoon from a brain aneurysm in an Orlando hospital, shortly after being removed from life support.

Her classmates returned home Sunday night.

Monday, the flags in front of Biloxi High fly at half staff. Biloxi High Principal Pamela Manners told WLOX News that this week the students will remember Nicole in a number of ways.

"The senior class decided that all students, if they can, will wear yellow ribbons or wear yellow clothing. We were told that that was one of Nicole's favorite colors, so we will do that in honor of her tomorrrow. The student body will also, on Friday, be wearing their red Biloxi High School shirts. And if they were part of the senior trip, they will wear their Biloxi High School senior trip shirts in honor of Nicole."

Manners also said the senior class took up a collection for a memorial to Nicole at the school. The students plan to plant a tree in her honor.

Manners remembers Nicole as a good student who was witty, open and honest. She was in the ROTC program.

Nicole is survived by her parents, a brother and sister. Funeral arrangements are tentatively set for this Saturday in New Orleans. That's her mother's hometown.
