GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Stone County Sheriff Mike Farmer confirms to WLOX News a county dive team has recovered a .44 Magnum handgun that was stolen from the home of Timmy Garrison Sr. the night he was murdered.

Farmer said divers recovered the weapon from Bernard Bayou off Switzer Road in Gulfport on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the handgun was stolen from Garrison's home on Jan. 24, 2015, the same day he was discovered beaten and stabbed to death outside of his Stone County business on Cable Bridge Road.

Investigators say Garrison's wife, 51-year-old Evelyn Garrison, and her childhood friend, 64-year-old Emmett Entrekin, paid Jody Robert Parks, 21, to kill him.

Evelyn and Entrekin are charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Parks is charged with capital murder. All three remain in custody at the Stone County Jail.
