Mississippi Gulf Coast captured the first MACJC Conference Golf Tournament of the season

WIGGINS, MS (WLOX) -  The Gulf Coast Bulldogs ran away from the competition to win the MACJC Conference Golf Tournament after two rounds.

The first round was played at Grand Bear Golf Club in Harrison County on Saturday and the final round was completed at Pine Burr Country Club on Monday.

Gulf Coast fired a 293 total in the first round and a 294 total in the second round to capture the tournament by 19 shots over second-place Co-Lin.

Grant Motter of Mississippi Gulf Coast led the pack with a 142 total, 2 under after the two rounds. His Bulldogs teammate Conner Entriken was one shot back with a 143, 1 under, tied with Jacob Ross of Co-Lin.

Motter tapped-in an eagle on the last hole following an outstanding second shot on the par-5, 18th to overtake teammate Entriken and Ross of Co-Lin.

Gulf Coast takes aim on the Elizabeth Kling Memorial Invitational at Rock Creek in Fairhope, Alabama February 21-22.  From there it's on to Eagle Ridge and Wolf Hollow on February 28 and March 1.
