Sunshine will reign over today's Mardi Gras parades

If you're heading to one of the six Mardi Gras parades today and tonight, grab a light jacket. And be sure you have sunscreen.

Parades roll in Biloxi, Pascagoula, Jackson County, Bay St. Louis, Long Beach and Gautier. The Biloxi parade is for children. It starts at 10:00 a.m. The last parade is the Gautier Men's Club parade. It rolls at 7:00 p.m.

In between, the Krewe of Kids rolls at 11:00 in Bay St. Louis, the Krewe of Lil Rascals takes over Pascagoula at 1:00, Biloxi's Second Liners parade marches through Ward 2 at 1:00, and the Mystic Krewe of Pine Island parades down John's Bayou Road at 1:30.

Two night parades entertain Mardi Gras revelers. The Carnival Association of Long Beach rolls through downtown Long Beach at 6:00 p.m. And the Gautier Men's Club holds its annual parade at 7:00 p.m.

The WLOX Weather app says temperatures this afternoon will reach 60 degrees. They'll drop into the 50s when the night parades roll.
