GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

If you're looking for a job, Gulfport-based RPM Pizza wants you to know it's preparing to add hundreds of employees to its payroll. RPM just bought 45 Domino's Pizza stores in Indiana, and officials said as part of that deal, they've agreed to build dozens of stores, some of which will be in Mississippi. Officials say they're expanding to help put more people to work.

John Richards started with Domino's as a 16-year-old, part-time delivery driver. He stayed with RPM Pizza through high school and college and after graduation, realized his heart was in the pizza business. Now, he's regional vice president for RPM Pizza.

"This company really prides ourselves on hiring from within and promoting our positions from within," said Richards. "We've helped franchise over 150 employees that mainly started off as delivery drivers into very successful franchisees."

RPM officials said the 45 Domino's purchased in Indianapolis and northern Indiana, along with the 28 new stores to open over the next three years, will bring the company up to 215 locations. That means more job opportunities for people trying to start in the working world.

"I really see sometimes that struggle for the transition from high school to college or high school to work or college for work. Getting that job, that first time job. We deal with that every day," said CEO Glenn Mueller. "We employ 3,000 people. Now 3,600 people. We just added 600, and we want to hire another 400 in the next year, so that's our goal."

The expansion has employees all excited. More locations means more opportunities for those wanting to advance up the RPM ladder.

"We feel with that growth rate, we're able to track really good people and provide them opportunity to grow," said Mueller. "Rather than staying with the same number of stores, same number of employment and the only way to get promoted is if somebody leaves."

"I love our expansion. I'm very excited. It's going to open up many more doors and opportunities hopefully for some people, many in high school right now, to one day open up their own franchise," said Richards.

RPM Pizza marked its 34th birthday with a small celebration with the staff. Officials said the acquisition makes this birthday even more special.

"I do want to pay it forward. At my age, to take on more stores could be looked at as more problems, more issues and more headaches, but I see it as an opportunity to help more people. Young people and all ages to really help them hit their dreams," said Mueller.
