Contractor to plead guilty in federal case involving MGCCAA's former director

Federal court documents show a contractor, accused of offering bribes for construction contracts from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community Action Agency, will plead guilty.

Donald Walton's attorney filed the motion for the plea change Monday.

As WLOX News first reported in July, Walton, another contractor and the former director of the agency, Linda Harvey-Irvin, were all indicted for conspiring to embezzle from MGCCAA.

Harvey-Irvin allegedly accepted bribes from Walton, owner and operator of Walton Construction, in exchange for construction contracts. She's also accused in a second indictment of accepting bribes from Markuntala Croom in exchange for awarding consulting work.

Walton is expected to plead guilty on February 19th.
