South State soccer titles on the line tonight involving 10 local teams

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Two defending state champions, St. Stanislaus and St. Patrick, hope to make it back to the state finals.  To get there the Rockachaws and Fighting Irish must claim South State titles tonight.

St. Stanislaus battles a familiar foe in Bay High on the Tigers new turf tonight at 6 p.m. in the Class 4A Boys South State championship game.

St. Patrick takes on Sacred Heart at 6 p.m. in the Class 1A/2A/3A South State title game in Biloxi.  The Fighting Irish under head coach Mario Camps won-it-all last season, the 3rd state soccer championship for Camps.

Our Lady Academy will try to lock-down the 1A/2A/3A Girls South State championship hosting Madison St. Joe at 5:30 in Bay st. Louis.

In the Class 6A ranks both the boys and girls South State championship send local teams head-to-head with the winners advancing to the state finals on Saturday.

The Class 6A girls South State championship sends Ocean Springs at Biloxi at 5:30.  The Lady Greyhounds have beaten the Lady Indians twice this season to claim the Region 7-6A title.  Ocean Springs prevailed 2-0 and 3-0 but tonight is a new game and anything can happen.  Lady Indians goalkeeper Brittany Snyder has been rock-solid all season and gets another shot at Ocean Springs.

Another coast confrontation sends Ocean Springs at Gulfport at 6:00 p.m. for the boys Class 6A South State championship. The Admirals beat the Greyhounds 2-0 on November 17.  That was the second game of the season and both teams have gotten much better since then.

The Pass Christian Lady Pirates have a tough assignment at 6 p.m. hosting defending class 4A State Champion Northeast Jones.

In the 5A ranks, Pascagoula is on the road at Pearl.

WLOX will try to get as many highlights as possible.  Tune-in at 10 for those highlights and scores.
