GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Rumors of a fight involving R&B star R. Kelly at a Gulfport nightclub have been swirling on the internet. But Gulfport Police say no charges were filed in the dispute. And the club owner says it's all about a business deal gone bad.

Club Illusion II Owner George Bush took to Facebook Monday to tell his side of the story. He said the event cost him more than $50,000, and R. Kelly didn't honor the contract signed by arriving late, and not performing as promised.

Bush apologized to patrons who came out to the club hoping to see R. Kelly, and offered partial refunds.

Gulfport Police said officers were sent to the club Sunday around 3:46am in response to a disturbance inside. When they arrived, the officers saw club security escorting a man out the back door. Investigators later learned that man was involved in the disturbance inside, and it was a civil dispute between the management of Club Illusion II and R. Kelly's management.

Since no one wanted to file reports and no crimes were witnessed by the officers, no action was taken.
