JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - A group of former Singing River Health System employees is asking a court to allow former Mississippi Attorney General Mike Moore to take over the failing SRHS retirement plan.
In a motion filed in chancery court earlier this week, attorneys for the plaintiffs say the current board of trustees overseeing the retirement fund have failed in their duties.
They are asking Judge Neil Harris to remove the current board and allow Moore to take over administration of the retirement plan.
Moore is a Jackson county native. He served as attorney general for the state from 1988 until 2004. He currently runs a law firm based out of Flowood.
