Big night for high school soccer with the first round of the state playoffs getting underway

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - It's going to be an action-packed night on the high school soccer fields across South Mississippi.

In the Class 6A boys playoffs Brandon travels to Gulfport (7:30 p.m.) in one of the marquee games. Ocean Springs has the home field advantage hosting Jim Hill (7:30 p.m.).  Harrison Central is on the road at Oak Grove (6:00 p.m.) and Biloxi at Terry (7:00 p.m.).

In the Class 6A girls playoff games Ocean Springs entertains Jim Hill (5:30 p.m.). Gulfport is at home facing Oak Grove (5:30 p.m.). Biloxi at Terry (5:00 p.m.). Harrison Central has a tough assignment going up against home standing Brandon (5:30 p.m.).

Class 5A boys West Jones travels to West Harrison (7:00 p.m.) and Pascagoula entertains Natchez (6:00 p.m.).

Class 5A girls South Jones at West Harrison (5:30 p.m.). Pascagoula on the road at Pearl (5:30 p.m.). Long Beach at West Jones (6:00 p.m.) and Brookhaven at George County (6:00 p.m.).

Class 4A boys defending state champion St. Stanislaus beat Newton County 2-0 Monday night to advance to the second round on Saturday. Tonight Bay High entertains Northeast Lauderdale (6:00 p.m.).

Class 4A girls has Bay High at West Lauderdale (6:00 p.m.).

Class 1A-2A-3A girls sends St. Andrews at Our Lady Academy in Bay St. Louis (6:00 p.m.).

St. Patrick, the defending Class 1A-2A-3A state champs, will be at home Wednesday evening (5:30 p.m.).

WLOX will have game highlights from 4 local games and the scores tonight at ten.
