BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - A dog was shot by Harrison County deputies Tuesday afternoon while they were serving a search warrant in Biloxi. Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said the warrant was served by the Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team.
"Apparently a pit bull attacked the officer, then another officer shot the animal," said Brisolara.
The dog died from its injures. The sheriff said the shooting happened inside a home on West Drive.
"The dog was inside the home. I believe the owners were inside the house."
Brisolara said his deputies did find and recover narcotics inside the home. No word yet on any arrests.
