St. Patrick ready to defend its 1A-2A-3A State Soccer title beginning Wednesday

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Veteran coach Mario Camps always prepares his soccer teams both physically and mentally.
His 14-2 and 2 Fighting Irish captured yet another District title, the 18th in Camps 19 years of coaching on the high school level.

Last season he guided St. Patrick to the 1A-2A-3A State Championship, his 3rd overall.

Camps said, "It's them stepping on the field playing with their heart and playing with their skill and being committed to what they're going to do."

Senior Stephen Alexander says he believes St. Patrick doesn't face pressure, entering the playoffs as the defending state champs.

"I feel like it's more motivation then pressure because we want to win this all again, "stated Alexander.

Sophomore Island Stebly leads St. Patrick with 11 goals.

Stebly said,"It's put a lot of pressure on us to try to win this again but I think we can work through it."

Senior goalkeeper Nick Nimmo came up with a number of stellar defensive efforts last season and he feels good about this year's title chase.

"We feel confident because we pretty much have the same team and we're doing just as good if not better, "said Nimmo.

You can bet coach Mario Camps will have his Fighting Irish in the right offensive and defensive schemes as they get ready for the second season.
