LSU Whips Bulldogs Again

(Starkville-AP) -- Freshman pitcher Lane Mestepey pitched eight scoreless innings to help L-S-U beat Mississippi State 7-to-1 today. Bryan Moore and Aaron Hill had two hits each and drove in six of L-S-U's runs as the Tigers (19-6-1, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) pounded Mississippi State pitching for the second straight day. The Bulldogs have been outscored 16-to-2 in the first two games of the weekend series. Mestepey retired the first eight batters he faced, allowed only two baserunners over the first six innings, and did not let a runner past second base until the ninth inning. Mississippi State pushed across its lone run in the ninth. The Bulldogs fall to 12-and-9 and 4-and-4 in the S-E-C.
