BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Seniors showed off their dancing moves and Mardi Gras spirit Wednesday. The City of Biloxi Parks and Recreation Department hosted its annual Mardi Gras Ball at the Donal Snyder Community Center.
About 100 seniors enjoyed music, food and door prizes. The event gave many seniors who can't attend the parades a chance to have some carnival fun.
"I think it's wonderful, and I think it's great that they put this on for us seniors," said May Lou Layhan.
"I'm glad because it reminds me of Europe," said Barbara Bruhnke. "That's where I'm from. We have Mardi Gras in Germany. We have it here too, and I'm very pleased about that."
The bash included a drawing for King, Queen, Duke and Duchess. Ronald Balius reigned as this year's King and Juanice Freeman was crowned Queen.
