Hancock High students allowed back in class following bomb threat

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Hancock High School students are back in class following a bomb threat Tuesday. That bomb threat interrupted classes when officials evacuated the school.

According to Sheriff Ricky Adam, a student found a threatening message in the bathroom and alerted a teacher. The students were then evacuated, and deputies are now searching the campus.

A parent told WLOX News seniors who were supposed to be released early have been sitting in a bus line since 11:40am.

The school says authorities have checked the school and it is safe for students to return.
