3 people, including 2 volunteer firefighters, charged in string of arsons

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Two Hancock County volunteer firefighters and another woman are in hot water after deputies say they were connected to two arsons over the past several months.

Officials with the Hancock County Sheriff's Department tell us Marie Gill, 27, of Gulfport, Korri-Don Jones, 29, of Pearlington, and Leslie Cherami, 39, of Bay St. Louis, are charged with attempting to set fire to the marsh in the Pearlington community.

Gill is charged with two counts of arson, one count of conspiracy to commit arson and one count of evidence tampering. 

Jones is charged with two counts of accessory to arson after the fact and one count of conspiracy to commit arson. He is a member of the West Hancock Volunteer Fire Department. His father, Tim Jones, is chief of that department.

Cherami is charged with one count of accessory to arson after the fact and one count of conspiracy to commit arson.
