When presidential election years come around, it seems by the time the Democratic and Republican primaries are held in Mississippi the party nominations are all but decided. The result is voters in Mississippi don't draw much attention from the candidates.
We support the effort to move primaries a couple of weeks earlier to March 1, for the 2016 election. Holding the primary elections early in the process could draw Democratic and Republican candidates to our state, giving voters here the opportunity to shape the conversation and have impact on the issues facing the highest office in the land. That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to email@example.com.
