BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Nicky Creel, who served for years as Harrison County's chancery clerk, has died. He was 85. His son, Nicky Creel, Jr told WLOX News his father had a stroke and died Thursday morning.
Creel served as chancery clerk for 24 years (1972-1996), but was with the county in other capacities for many years before being elected. He also served seven years on the Harrison County Tourism Commission, and was considered a key player in getting the organization back up and running after Hurricane Katrina.
Arrangements for Creel's funeral are still being made through Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
