BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - A Biloxi elementary school teacher has won one of the most prestigious, national awards in education. Wednesday morning North Bay Elementary School 4th grade teacher Cagney Weaver was surprised with being named Mississippi's 2014 Milken Educator Award Winner.

The $25,000 Milken Educator Award was presented at a a surprise school-wide assembly. Dr. Carey Wright, State Superintendent of Education, and Dr. Jane Foley, Senior Vice President, Milken Educator Awards recognized Weaver for her exceptional work in education and said her teaching skills were a model for the state and nation.
