Shuckers tap Subero to skipper Biloxi's AA team

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Where the Biloxi Shuckers play their first home games in 2015 still hasn't been announced. Wherever they play, Carlos Subero will be the team's manager.

The Shuckers announced Subero will be back for his second season as skipper of the Milwaukee Brewers' AA team. Also returning to the team are pitching coach Chris Hook and coach Sandy Guerrero.

Last season, Subero led his squad to a North Division title in the first half of the season. Overall, the AA team known last year as the Huntsville Stars had a 77-63.

Who is Carlos Subero? He's been a manager for the last 15 seasons. In the 1990s, Subero played in the Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Texas Rangers Minor League systems.

The Shuckers will get their 2015 season underway April 9 when they visit the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Construction on their $36 million home stadium is expected to be finished in July. The team still hasn't said when the Biloxi Shuckers will actually play baseball at MGM Park in downtown Biloxi.
