Supervisors ask to keep FEMA office open

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Harrison County supervisors will ask the state's Congressional delegation to try and keep open the FEMA recovery offices located behind the Coliseum.

Coliseum Director Bill Holmes said the government plans to close the FEMA operation and move it to an existing center in Texas. Holmes told the board 200 families would be impacted by the loss of jobs if the Biloxi location is closed.

Supervisors voted unanimously to urge Congressional representatives to keep the local facility open.
