HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Harrison County and Combat Readiness Training Fire Departments got to put their fire extinguishing skills to the test during a training session Saturday morning.
The two groups often respond to fire emergencies together, so they were given the opportunity to train together in a live fire training environment.
In Saturday's session, the firefighters were able to critique their firefighting techniques, which Russell Shoultz says will better the service they provide to those in their community.
"Training opportunities like this are critical in strengthening partnerships and teamwork in emergency services," said Shoultz, Assistant Chief with the Combat Readiness Training Fire Department. "In emergency services, nothing is ever done by yourself. You rely on your other partners around the region to come together when an emergency happens, to make sure the customer, the citizens are served at the highest level."
The fire departments do live fire training sessions like this at least twice a year to stay current with their techniques.
