JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - Just moments before the 2015 legislative session, state workers held a rally on the grounds of the capitol.
Moral Movement Mississippi and a collection of public workers-state employees and teachers huddled together. They held protest signs requesting pay raises. They also demanded lawmakers fully fund the Mississippi Adequate Education Program.
The 2015 legislative session opened at noon. Lawmakers will spend the next three months in Jackson, debating bills, and determining pay scales.
