GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A blast of cold weather will blanket South Mississippi over the next few days. Temperatures Sunday night will dip below 40 degrees. Consequently, the Salvation Army will open two cold weather shelters, just in case people who are having heating issues at home, or people without homes need a place to stay.

The Salvation Army Cold Weather Shelters will be open in Gulfport and Pascagoula.

In Gulfport, the shelter will be at 2019 22nd Street. It opens Sunday at 4 p.m. In Pascagoula, the shelter will be at 3217 Nathan Hale Avenue. It opens at 4:30 p.m. Both shelters will open again Monday night, when overnight temperatures are again expected to be below 40 degrees.

The cold weather shelter located on Auto Mall Parkway in D'Iberville will also be open starting at 4:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
