PICAYUNE, MS (WLOX) -

Picayune Police are searching for a man they believe fired shots into three houses and a car. Jaron Stubbs is wanted for aggravated assault and three counts of shooting into a dwelling.

Investigators said it happened around 9:05 Wednesday morning. Officers were out on a normal patrol when they heard several gun shots around the area of North Jackson, off of East Canal. They went over to the area, but didn't see anything. While they were looking, the victim showed up at the police department.

The victim told police he pulled up to 3rd and North Jackson and a guy began shooting at him with a rifle. The gunman was later identified as 27-year-old Jaron Stubbs.

The victim's car was hit on the passenger side front door; three houses were also hit by gunfire. Police still aren't sure about a motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information on where Stubbs could be is asked to call the Picayune Police Department at (601) 798-7411
