Cold weather shelters opening tonight

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Temperatures are dropping, and the cots are rolling out. Tuesday many shelters across South Mississippi will open their doors for those in need of a warm place to stay.

The Salvation Army Shelter in Gulfport is one that will open Tuesday and Wednesday. It is located at 2019 22nd Street. The doors will open at 4:00 p.m. both days. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., and those who stay overnight will be taken to Feed My Sheep in the mornings for breakfast.

The Salvation Army Shelter in Pascagoula is also open Tuesday and Wednesday. It is located at 3217 Nathan Hale Avenue. The Shelter will open at 4:30 both days, and dinner and breakfast are served.

Officials with the Salvation Army say volunteers are needed at the shelters. If you would like to help out go to http://bit.ly/coldwxvolunteer to register.

In D'Iberville, the Multi Purpose Building on Auto Mall Parkway will also be open Tuesday and Wednesday.
