Christmas tree recycling locations

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

If you're planning on properly recycling your real Christmas tree you have now until January 20 in Harrison County to have it recycled and save landfill space.

In Harrison County the drop off locations include:

Behind D'Iberville Elementary at the Bobby Eleuterius Sports Complex off Brodie Drive in D'Iberville.

The Rodenberg Avenue parking bay at Highway 90 in Biloxi.

The Woolmarket Work Center at Highway 67 and Old Woolmarket Road.

Courthouse Road Pier parking lot at Highway 90 in Gulfport.

The Long Beach Harbor parking lot by the Pavilion on Highway 90.

And the Pass Christian Harbor west parking lot on Highway 90. 

Locations in Jackson County include:

The Jackson County Landfill at 10501 Seaman Road in Vancleave.

The Jackson County Recreation Department on Ballpark Road in Vancleave.

Also, there's the Jackson County East Road Barn on Highway 63 in Escatawpa.

The Jackson County West Road Barn on Highway 609 in St. Martin.

The Jackson County Fairgrounds north parking lot near the barns, it's at 2902 Shortcut Road in Pascagoula.

And in Ocean Springs you have now until January 16 to recycle trees.

Trees should be taken behind the Ocean Springs Civic Center at 3730 Bienville Boulevard.

And the Public Works Department at 712-A Pine Drive behind the National Guard Armory is also taking trees.

Signs will be posted at most tree collection sites. You are asked to take tree out of bag and take off all ornaments, lights and stands before dropping off your tree. Flocked trees will be accepted, but not artificial trees.
