SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - The WLOX 24/7 Weather Team is tracking a line of strong to severe thunderstorms now moving through Southeast Louisiana and into Mississippi. These will eventually reach our six coastal counties later in the afternoon and through the evening.
The Storm Prediction Center has classified our severe weather threat as "enhanced." Our greatest threat will include strong, damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, small hail and isolated tornadoes. The storms will also bring heavy rain to the area, making for dangerous driving conditions.
We'll see the storms move out of here early in the morning, likely before sunrise with clouds lingering until midday.
As always, be sure to stay tuned to WLOX and WLOX.com, and download the WLOX 24/7 Weather App for your mobile devices for the most up-to-date information related to severe weather.
