Through ten games head coach Nancy Ladner has guided Harrison Central to 8 wins and 2 defeats.
She says team chemistry has been a key to the Red Rebelettes success.
Ladner said, "The came together and they play together as a team. They get a long well and probably this team has the best team chemistry that we've ever had in awhile."
No. 13 Jazzmun Holmes is an all-around player for the Red Rebelettes.
She's netting 13 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 3 steals per game. She has already signed a college scholarship with Mississippi State.
Holmes said, "My top two schools were Mississippi State and Florida and I chose Mississippi State because I loved the atmosphere and the people and the coaches around there.
She started with us since she was a freshman. She's become a great leader this year for us as well as Philmecia Drakeford.
Drakeford is the Red Rebelettes top gun...drilling 13.6 points a game. She and play maker Jazzmun Holmes work well together. Philmecia says she and her teammates are aiming high...they want that 6A State Championship Trophy.
Drakeford said, "We plan to work harder then we did last year and get further then we did last year instead of coming home with nothing. To come home with a gold ball and a ring.
Ladner added, "She's doing a great job in scoring and she also has stepped up as a leader.
Adyn Strickland has picked up her game, she bagging 8 points and 7 rebounds.
For two months while a new basketball court was built in the gym, coach Ladner and her Red Rebelettes were forced to practice outdoors.
Ladner said, "We were out on the hot asphalt having to flip tires and the weights and everything and they didn't complain.
Ladner says that determination has spilled over in the way the Red Rebelettes are playing inside the gym....with
junior Adyn Strickland picking up her game, bagging 8 points and 7 rebounds a game.
