D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - If you plan on taking I-110 this evening expect slowdowns. Starting 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, December 15 and Tuesday the southbound lanes will be restricted to one lane. And on Wednesday and Thursday the northbound lanes will be restricted to just one lane also beginning at 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.
This is necessary so the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) can set beams on the new Big Ridge Road Overpass, according to MDOT District Construction Engineer Gabe Faggard.
It's all part of the 'Diverging Diamond' interchange design at D'Iberville. According to MDOT, it will be the first in the state. It is designed to reduce delays for motorists who are crossing and entering the interstate.
The project is expected to be completed by Fall of 2015.
