MDOT: Road work could hinder overnight travel on I-10

D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - If you have plans of driving on Interstate 10 Monday night, some road construction could hinder your travels. The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced an update on part of the new interchange at I-10 and I-110 in D'Iberville.

Beginning Monday, bridge beams will be installed over the travel lanes of I-110 as part of the reconstruction of the Big Ridge Road Bridge.

In the process, road closures will be required.

Starting Monday at 7 p.m., I-110 southbound will be restricted to one lane until 5 a.m. Tuesday. Those same lane closures will also go for Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

However, Wednesday evening starting at 7 p.m., I-110 northbound will be restricted to one lane until 5 a.m. Thursday. Work will continue that evening, restricting I-110 northbound to one lane once again. It will re-open Friday at 5 a.m.

MDOT officials have chosen to work at night to help minimize traffic delays for highway motorists. Law enforcement will be on duty to assist with the management of traffic during this week's lane closures.
