Police: Stolen Biloxi Lighthouse decorations recovered

Biloxi Police say they have made one arrest in connection with the decorations stolen Tuesday night from the lighthouse on Highway 90.

Police said the person they arrested was found on a pier with Christmas decorations. They have not confirmed yet whether those decorations are the ones missing from the Biloxi Lighthouse.

Biloxi Historic Properties Director Bill Raymond said the decorations that were taken were custom made and cost about $1,500. The red and silver swags with LED lights went around the middle and the top of the lighthouse.

Biloxi Police tell us they have recovered the stolen decorations, and they will be installed on the lighthouse before the end of the day Wednesday.

Raymond said the official start to Christmas in Biloxi will take place Thursday at 5 p.m. as planned with the lighting of the Biloxi Lighthouse. Santa will be there for the festivities and there will be cookies and hot chocolate for the kids.
