MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - The days of flooded homes in a Moss Point neighborhood may be over. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held this morning on a two-phase project that will help alleviate the flooding near Rose Drive.
City leaders say 16 larger drains will be put in the area. Contractors will also work to reroute the water from south to north without effecting homeowners. The completion date is set for late August 2015.
Residents in the area say that is good news after dealing with water swallowing their neighborhood for more than 40 years.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Webb Street in Moss Point at 10:00 this morning.
