Major news from Mississippi's largest employer on Monday. Four unions have agreed to a contract extension at Ingalls. The new three-year deal includes pay raises for those union workers.
They'll receive a 60 cent raise next month, another 60 cent bump in 2016, and a 75 cent increase in 2017.
"This collaboration between management and labor is another example of how we continue to work together to ensure we provide the best opportunities for our shipbuilders and at the same time position our shipyard to compete for future contracts," said Edmond Hughes, Ingalls' vice president, human resources and administration.
They also get a $1,250 bonus next week. Two unions did not support the contract offer. The independent machinists have asked for negotiations to continue.
