MOBILE, AL (WLOX) - A big celebration is set to take place in Mobile New Year's Eve again this year. And what makes the event even bigger, are the headliners who will assist in ringing in the new year.
MoonPie organizers announced this year's headliners are the people who made four little letters a big deal. That's right, we are talking about the Village People, famous for the song, YMCA. The group will share the stage with soul singer Evelyn Champagne King.
The big announcement was made Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama. Organizers say they are excited to ring in the New Year with two great performers.
"It's the ambience of the entire night," Mobile Councilman Fred Richardson said. "It isn't just the performance. If I was going to New York, I wouldn't go just to see who is performing. It's about New Year's Eve night all together."
