BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi is bursting with the colors of Christmas. This is the first year the museum is showcasing the "Trees of Ohr," in the museum's welcome center.
Each of the eight trees is decorated by a local artist. All of the handmade ornaments on the trees are for sale, and some of the proceeds will go toward the operation of the museum. Some of the ornaments are made of pottery, glass, and paper collage.
"Our first year for the "Trees of Ohr" and we're encouraging people to shop local, and to give the gift of art," said Carol Messer, the assistant director at the museum. "Each piece is handmade, and to give a handmade gift, or to receive one, is really special."
The museum store also has special hours for holiday shopping, and each day in December will feature a different activity or discount.
